The Water Is for Every Swimmer, No Exceptions
Adaptive programs in Concord, CA include both swim lessons and aqua fitness, designed to meet each participant exactly where they are.
What are our adaptive programs?
Bring together two of Springwood’s core offerings, swim lessons and aqua fitness, in a format that is thoughtfully tailored for individuals with physical, developmental, cognitive, or sensory differences.
We work patiently with each participant, adjusting techniques, communication, and pacing to fit their unique needs. Some participants come to us to learn foundational water safety skills. Others are drawn to the low-impact, full-body benefits of adaptive aquacise. Many enjoy both.
Whatever brings you to the water, our team is here to support that journey, in a calm, welcoming outdoor pool setting in Concord, CA where comfort and trust come first.

Self-Determination Program, how we work with you
We proudly accept Regional Center participants
Springwood All Abilities Swim Club is currently accepting participants enrolled in the Self-Determination Program (SDP) through the Regional Center. If you or your loved one is part of this program, adaptive swim lessons and aqua fitness at Springwood may be funded through your individual budget.
What is the Self-Determination Program?
The Self-Determination Program (SDP) is a California initiative through the Regional Center system that gives individuals with developmental disabilities more choice and control over the services and supports they receive. Participants manage their own budgets and can select their own providers, including adaptive aquatic programs like Springwood.
If you’re using Self-Determination funding, here are your payment options:
How to use your SDP funding at Springwood
Option 1
Pay out-of-pocket & get reimbursed
Pay for your adaptive program directly and submit for reimbursement through your SDP budget. The quickest way to get started while your FMS paperwork is being set up.
Option 2
Pay through your FMS provider
Have your Financial Management Service (FMS) provider handle payments to Springwood directly on your behalf. Follow the steps below to get this set up.
Option 3 - COMING SOON
Direct Regional Center billing
We are working to enable direct billing through the Regional Center. We’ll update this page as soon as this option becomes available.
How to set up FMS payments with Springwood
Setting up your FMS provider to pay Springwood directly is simple. Here’s exactly what to do:
- Email us directly. Reach out to Springwood to let us know you’d like to enroll using your SDP funding through an FMS provider. Share your FMS information so we know who to expect paperwork from.
- Authorize your FMS. Contact your FMS provider and tell them you want Springwood All Abilities Swim Club to be associated with your account. Your FMS will not send the required paperwork to us until they receive this direct instruction from you.
- CC Springwood on your FMS email. When you contact your FMS to initiate this process, please CC Springwood using our email: allabilities@zalexygroup.com so that everyone is aligned from the start. This helps us track progress and follow up if needed.
- Your FMS sends us the paperwork. Once authorized, your FMS will send Springwood a small packet, typically around three pages, which may include a W-9, bank information, and our service charge details. Depending on your FMS, these may arrive digitally or as physical forms.
- We complete your enrollment. Once we receive and process the paperwork, we will call you to set up the schedule, your family will be officially enrolled in our system and ready to begin adaptive swim lessons or aqua fitness with your funding in place.
Important reminder
Your FMS will not reach out to Springwood until you give them the go-ahead. The first step is always yours, contact your FMS, tell them you want to use Springwood as your adaptive aquatics provider, and CC us on that email (allabilities@zalexygroup.com). We’re here to support you through the whole process.
